ABOUT

Hello! I am Austin, an audio engineer born and raised in Tennessee. My audio work focuses on high-resolution digital audio practices, namely source acquisition and forensics. My philosophy is to capture the organic experience of enjoying live music. Through thoughtful and focused engineering, my recordings capture the essence of acoustic music in its most pure form. My passion exists at the junction of precision audio engineering and appreciation of the language of music. I also work as an information security professional specializing in digital forensics, and I have a deep working knowledge of computer operating systems and digital media.

PORTFOLIO

In 2022, I had the immense honor to record a live performance entitled "Mozart and Friends", produced by Harvest Arts. This included wonderful pieces by Vivaldi and Mozart (and others), and focused on works written for flute and harp. The performance was located at the beautiful Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Franklin, TN. For this recording, I focused on capturing a natural sound and used an AEA R88 mk2 as the primary stereo pair, with a stereo pair of DPA 4006a's providing support. All captured at 192kHz through a Merging Technologies Hapi.
